Bio: Born in Cairo, Egypt, Samy immigrated to the United States in 2011 and settled in Ashburn, VA with his family. Samy studied fine art in Cairo, Egypt where he participated in many art exhibitions. He is a practitioner of a variety of art media from pen & ink, watercolor, acrylic, pastel, colored pencil, and photography, to mosaics and relief sculpture. His work is in public and private collections in Egypt, France, Germany and the United States. In addition, several of his works were published in the catalog for the Japanese International Cartoon Symposium Exhibition in 1991, 1992 and 2000.
Artist Statement: Imagination is the most important target in my art works. My artwork may have different subjects and employ different techniques, but the human being remains the hero and the center of most of my pieces.
